Dempending on the macro that im gonna be using, it will either be a 15 min timer or an automatic enterance fee, im not sure which one i want yet. I was looking to set it up as close to the dathomir outpos as possible, of course, we would need to work out the money details, a mill of my money will be deposited int your account a day, of course u will get a hefty 10% or so for letting me use your shack, and jeremy will allso be getting around 10% for letting me use his internet time.

Published by Anonymous on 3/30/2004 10:50:00 PM

Matt- It's just a vendor tent, which you'd have ownership to. You'd set a 15-minute timer for a 6-8k entry fee. (whatever price is decided on.) That's all you really need to do. I think you can pull that off with nothing more than Buisness 1.

I thought you were at least a Novice merchant now? (I thought you needed Merchant to get a vendor- and you had one.) The vendor isn't neccisary for the buff-shack- that's for me. I wanna' set up a place that is advertized on the map as selling Pre-Patch Nym's.

Published by Anonymous on 3/30/2004 05:56:00 PM

What sort of shack did we have in mind? I need to get some architect training (I've got 1/1/2/1 right now, and afterwards I'll have 3/1/2/1.) Though if you want a specific type of house, perhaps I could dump into houses instead.

I can build and use a lot to jack it up. Though I've not trained merchant, yet. Skill points are getting a bit thin, and I really want to make Commando after M. Architect. (I'm also about 5600 surveying XP from M.Artisan)

I assume we'll want a vendor in the shack, and go from there?

Published by Anonymous on 3/30/2004 05:39:00 PM

Jeremy--Running late, but I'll get there 'ventually.

Jeremy--Order food before Bebop or bring own food? I'd appreciate knowing which.

John--Pity about no anime. But a couple hundred for an hour's work... Woot!

Published by John on 3/30/2004 08:50:00 AM

Okay sorry guys. I really want to watch some Cowboy BeeBop, but I have to run a service call in Canton after work today. It is an easy couple hundred bucks for about an hours work. Can't pass it up. It will give me more cash to spend in the dealers room this weekend, which equates to a few neato bootlegs :) I promise that I'll catch up on the BeeBop and be ready to watch next week. That is of course unless someone else wants to toss cash at me! I'm such a manhoe.......

Published by Anonymous on 3/30/2004 12:39:00 AM

Well if matt can help whit the schack, then ill go with matts shack, but i wanna get it set up by this weekend, all the friend was gonna do was set me up with the macro, or so i thought.

Published by Anonymous on 3/29/2004 09:59:00 PM

Dustin- Why Dathomir? A bit out-of-the-way, isn't it...?

And why an outside party? Matt has all the levels one needs to set up the auto-buff hut now (and it would help him with Merchant XP), and I could level myself to that point in a matter of days.

Yeah... we can make a deal for my net access. I want a fixed percent of all sales. Assuming this guy doesn't just take the money and run. (All merchant fees would be going to his account.)

Ahhh, but what they never told you about was the little 14 year old kid who unlocked Luke by mastering 22 professions. and bubla fett was his alternate character on another account, that is why he didn't own Lukes ass, its a little hard to 2 box combat u know.

John-- If you want the 200k, thats fine.

Jeremy-- I met a verry nice doc last night no dathomir, he is gonna help me set up a buff shack on dathomir, and, if i have all thee math worked out, i currently have 12mill worth of buffs on me and another 2mill in the bank. So heres the question, can i leave my machine runing at ur place and afk earn some creds, in exchange for being ur sugar daddy.

Published by John on 3/29/2004 10:47:00 AM

Dustin--Hey don't you owe me like 200k in credits for getting Trogdore blown up? :-P

Jeremy--All hail the Master Bounty Hunter...... hey why are you twitching? Oh that is dancing, uh okay. All hail Atropos "Dirty Dancing" Zerem. Heh heh heh. I'm allowed to pick on you, since soon I'll be asking to do everyones makeup and nails. *sigh* Sheesh all Luke had to do is lose his hand, have impure thoughts about his sister, and kill his father. He had it easy!

Dustin: We'll see. It's gonna depend on when I run out of ore and gemstones. :D

Published by Anonymous on 3/27/2004 05:25:00 PM

Dustin--Now if that money actually translated to real life as better than percentile quantities, you'd be doing all right.

*grumbles at the stupid world* Orrin Hatch is an idiot. Congress Moves to Criminalize P2P

the operators of P2P networks are running a conspiracy in which they lure children and young people with free music, movies and pornography. With these "human shields," the P2P companies are trying to ransom the entertainment industries into accepting their networks as a distribution channel and source of revenue.

"Unfortunately, piracy and pornography could then become the cornerstones of a 'business model,'" Hatch said in a statement. The illicit activities of file sharers "then generate huge advertising revenues for the architects of piracy."

heres the deal, the best avian meat this server has ever seen is on danthomir rite now, it just spawned today, i will pay either 20cpu for it, or i will give free buffs for life for it, but i need at least 50k of it. The best creature to hunt for it is a reptavian flyer, mature reptavians missions always pay 4k, John and Matt, if you can get your guild to hunt it for me i will pay them in either buffs ofr creds, with this meat, i will be able to make 930 packs, which hit 2400 and last for 3 hours.

I might be up for a rancor hunt after I get back from work.

Published by John on 3/20/2004 10:24:00 AM

Okay I didn't want to like the new Dawn of the Dead, I really didn't. But I'll be damned if they didn't make a good zombie movie! I guess I have only 2 complaints. First they have a botched action sequence where they are inside a building, then all but one of them in a sewer. Secondly there is not a bit of character development. This wouldn't be all that much of a problem if this movie wasn't based off of a Romero work. Anyone who has seen Night, Dawn, or even Day will notice that the characters are well developed and interesting. This is key for you to care about what happens to them. In the new Dawn they are all disposable, even the main characters. But this is what makes George Romero a fantastic director/writer, and others acceptable. The gore is acceptable for what they could get away with an R rating for. To top it all off they played a Johnny Cash song over the opening credits. Not your standard metal tracks (which do show up later). I found this to be very creative and cool (but I'm a Johnny Cash fan). I'm really looking forward to the unrated DVD.

Jeremy, Dustin, Matt--Trogdore is offically a Rancor handler now :) Now I have to wait for the little bugger to grow up. So anyone want to go baby Rancor hunting with Troggie tonight? Me needs more....

...I'm sure without power that it won't work.

...Nope I'm sure.

I still haven't gotten around to getting the 512 chip for it, but twould be a lot easier if I could safely stick a 133 speed chip in it rather than the stock 66. I'm 95% sure that DDR RAM won't work... *refrains from further impolite comments about Dustin's g/f*

Jeremy--Bah. Weekends are unnecessary. Besides the other 4 days would be your weekend.

John--You always seem to find the worst times for movie excursions. As it wil be spring break, I won't be in town then.

Published by Anonymous on 3/15/2004 07:34:00 PM

Dustin- I'm going to be talking to Mike this weekend regarding this inventory job. Aparently he wants me to go with them on a run to make sure this is something I'll be able to do long-term. (He doesn't want people who just want to work 6-months or so...)

It's basically 72 hours nonstop, Fri-Sat-Sun. I assume a few meal breaks. Everyone meets up at a central point, hops into a van, and get driven from store to store. You inventory, get back in the van, and catch a few hours sleep on the way to the next store. You get paid the whole time- a "working wage" while you're actually doing the inventory, and a "driving wage" for while you're unconcious in the back of the van.

You work three days, the rest of the week you're off. Good deal, assuming it pays well enough, and you don't give a damn about "weekends." I'll find this out soon...

Jeremy--Damn that is what happens when non technical aholes take over a company. So much for Western Digital drives. So who makes a good reliable hard drive anymore? I've had good success with Seagate drives, but that is just me. Maxtor drives are too damn loud! So what are you going to do?

Dustin--How goes it dude? I didn't see you online this weekend wasup?

Caroline--Kingston rules!

Okay guys I have the new DVD release of Dawn of the Dead (good stuff!) as well as Wrong Turn. I can't speak to Wrong Turn's quality, but it is about cannibal hillbillys who go after a group of good looking 20 somethings. Sounds fun! Just a couple of ideas for movie night.

This is very important. I am going to go see the new Dawn of the Dead this weekend at a Matinee showing. If anyone wants to go with me let me know. I have taken the day off to avoid the teenagers, so I'm going to an early show (4 something).

That sucks, Wd used to be the shiznet for hdd's.

Published by Anonymous on 3/13/2004 02:03:00 PM

Hm. I found this on an old forum archive, dated from sometime last year:

As a former tech for Western Digital, it comes highly recommened to purchase Maxtor, Seagate, IBM, or Samsung drives.

WD has changed their warranty to one year because the new CEO has changed WD from the cadilac of hard drives to the cheap "reveal" brand (remember them)

Company memo quote "Quality means nothing anymore in this industry, its all about quanity" Well, they hit the quanity on the head. WD has more than a 10 fold in RMA drives putting the failure rate at nearly 11% or about 8% higher than any other drive on the market today. Infact most of the RMA replacement drives are other customer drives that are checked over and sent back out. So an intermintant drive could reach 10 users before it is finaly pulled for repair.

The amount of loss the company has taken in the last quater has forced the company to close their support centers and switch to an out source call center with only 90 days free support after purchase and after that all support calls will be charged to your credit card.

Even though I no longer work for them, it is still to bad to see this happen. Even while I and other still worked their, most of us would purchase Maxtor drives for our own use.

Here is a list of drive that top the RMA watch out list.

My failing 100 and 200GB drives were on that list.

I'm still a server behind. I'm not going to be done in time to make showing up late worthwhile...

Published by Anonymous on 3/11/2004 03:52:00 PM

Dustin - I just need two lots, for about a week. If that's a problem, I think Shatz said he would be coming into a few more lots after Friday...

Actually, if the building ban works, I won't need to actually trade the lots. I'd just have you or Shatzer place Atropos on the ban-list on my own house. I'm trying to set it up so that this kid who's gonna be leveing my account has no access to anything save what's in my inventory.

The kid may not be a crook, but finding two holocrons and a few million in resources sitting on the floor might be a bit too tempting, y'know...?

Published by Anonymous on 3/11/2004 02:35:00 PM

Jeremy, at this point i have 1 lot free, i can free up 3 lots by later tonight, and try the lot trade thingy.

Jeremy--Evangoline Freesun on the Ahazi (spelling?) server.

Published by Anonymous on 3/11/2004 02:03:00 PM

Baz Nitches tell me they need five servers shipped Friday morning. I only have two done. On paper, I shouldn't be able to get three systems done before 7pm (even assuming I let the last system run the tape backup while I'm gone, and come back to box it after the game.) We'll see...

I'm assuming I'll be there around an hour late. I'll try to drop another update around 5pm to give everyone time to check this before the game with a final answer.

Shatz- You say you have a character you've been playing around with on another server, right? I want to do a little experiment before we lay down our houses. I haven't gotten a straight answer if it's safe to use a lot trade to build houses. Nobody will tell me what happens to property when a character is deleted.

Some people think that any buildings who's owners get deleted dissapear every server reset. Others are positive that as long as you have multiple admins, the houses stick around till the maintainance runs out (which the other admins can keep paying...)

Basically, I want to make a new character on whatever server your second is on, and have you buy the cheapest house you can find. I'll place the lot, give your character full admin, and then delete the new character, and see what happens.

I fthe building sticks around for a few days, I'm going to use a "lot trade" to put down the clubhouse...

I also want to see if the admins can actually ban the homeowner from their own house.

Dustin- I haven't seen you on SWG for like two days now. I need to hook up with you online so I can trade your character ownership of my house for a week or so. You've got two lots free, right?

PS: anyone not playing star wars galaxies must start immediately, just don't play a wookie. The devs love to screw wookies! Though because of it we have a fairly tight community....

Published by John on 3/10/2004 11:21:00 PM

Star Wars Crew-- I should of expected it, but the devs screwed us again. They made all those wookies run those god awful missions on Endor to earn a set of armor that they won't let us wear! At least they say they are giving us a schematic, so we can make and replace the armor when it gets broken. *sigh* I really hate Galaxies sometimes! I swear to god if I weren't so close to master CH I would be playing the small asian karate woman by now.

Will either be late to game (7:30 or later) or not coming due to all-nighter for take-home midterm due tomorrow, morning apartment expo, and a 6PM apartment appointment that I should really go to. Will decide which option based on when I get this mid-term done.

Sorry Leon, but exams and places to live come before game. I also don't want to be driving long distances with serious sleep dep.

Hey, Jeremy, Dustin...I got a nice set of Marauder Armor that ain't doing nothin'... ;D

(Actually, I'll probably just put it up when I eventually get a house, but y'know.)

Published by Anonymous on 3/10/2004 03:24:00 PM

Shatz- Yeah, I was wanting to ask how bad you got tore up. I figured you with a cell-phone, bleeding, and trying to drive wasn't the best time to be playing " 20-questions..."

Using my supreme Bounty Hunter skills, I think I tracked the guy down last night. Black and brown Rottweiler, with some older scuzzy dude as the owner, right? Followed him back to his apartment after he told his dog "you're in trouble, you know that...?" I can get his last name off the mailbox tonight...

Published by John on 3/10/2004 03:22:00 PM

Caroline--Thanks. I would recommend metal pants for movie night :) I'm actually concerned that the county may put the dog down when I find the owner and report the information.

Published by Anonymous on 3/10/2004 12:47:00 PM

John--Ouch! Dog bites can be really ucky, so I hope you're doing okay and that the owner can be found. I didn't make any bad jokes about the "lucky" dog, now aren't you proud of me? :)

Jeremy--Definitely a take-home final, so movies at 6ish next week.

Published by John on 3/10/2004 11:34:00 AM

Jeremy--If you see that dude with his dog Lucky try and get his name or his apartment number. I'm looking for him. Otherwise I'm going to have to get rabies shots...... which I don't want!

Just to explain to everyone a dog bit me as I was leaving Jeremy's last night. Nasty business, but could of been much worse.

Jeremy & Dustin--So the rumor is after the devs make the wookies run the Marauder Armor missions they pulled it. So if you haven't run the missions don't bother. *sigh* I hate galaxies sometimes.

Published by Anonymous on 3/09/2004 07:50:00 PM

So they're anti-tracking droids then? *snickers*

Published by Anonymous on 3/09/2004 04:17:00 PM

Speaking of Bounty Hunter... I can hunt Jedi now. I've already seen a few targets available on the hit-list. Alas, they're almost impossible to hunt right now- the tracking droids are still bugged, and won't actually, well... track... anything. We've been promised this will be fixed in Patch 7.

Soon. Soon...

jeremy- I will be there tonight.

Published by Anonymous on 3/09/2004 12:59:00 PM

Jeremy--The more important part is that a take-home final means on-time for movies. Google doesn't work for things that aren't on it, especially analysis questions. The point of a take-home final (as should be true for in-class finals, in my opinion) is to demonstrate that you've learned and thought about the material rather than short-answer regurgitation. Although professors can set whatever restrictions they want for take-home exams, smart ones will rework their exams, recognizing that students are likely to consult their notes/work longer than the standard exam period.

Could you put off Underworld until next week please? Pretty please? *still hasn't seen it* Otherwise, I want a burned copy. On third thought, I want a burned copy anyhow. Pretty movie...

Published by Anonymous on 3/09/2004 12:36:00 PM

Shatzer- Underworld is still on the play list from last week. As for food- we have the standard Pizza/Chicken/Chinese options. Or, with a few "donations" to offset my cost, I've also got a large batch of Gaggins-made creamed-turkey in the freezer for sammiches.

As for the themepark- sure. The wookies need some love. Besides, if I have to run one more Bounty Hunter mission, I'm probably going to snap, gun down four or five people, and just quit SWG....

Caroline- A take-home final...? Err....

"And Google says the answer is..."

Published by Anonymous on 3/09/2004 11:45:00 AM

Jeremy--I should be at movies next week, but not this week. Currently depends on when my final ends, but I'm thinking 8, 8:30pm if the final starts at 6 (what with driving time). May have a take-home final instead of an in-class final, but I won't find that out until tonight.

John--The music is truly the best part. "The sky is blue and all the leaves are green. My heart is full like a baked potato. I think I know precisely what I mean When I say it's a shpadoinkle day" *sings*

I have, as always, thrown a few flicks into my laptop bag (Bride of Reanimator, Frogs, and Pirana). I know you had mentioned a few things as well (zombie flick?). Heck you even mentioned some sweet anime. I'm up for whatever.

Dustin and Jeremy--Would you guys be willing to run the Marauder Themepark with Matt and I so we can mooch your wookie armor?

Wayne--With my Wookie regeneration I will most likely get up pull you out of your KIA and rip your arms off. Just an FYI.

Caroline--Cannibal is okay, not great. I do enjoy the music. Ed and is Dead Mother is pretty cool as well.

Regarding Movies: I understand your abscences waere unintentional last week- Regardless, I'm going to be buisy for the next few weeks, and don't have time to waste sitting at home and waiting for a phone call...

Who's coming? If I don't hear from people by 4pm, don't bother showing up.

Dartguns! *beams* I had an old first ed character who used those... *nostalgic*

Yeah, Dustin, what exactly would a noble get in trouble for? *plots* If this status confusion/penalty becomes a major issue, it might be better if the whole party was "normal"/house drow. It would encourage party communication if nothing else.

Published by Anonymous on 3/07/2004 04:31:00 PM

Dave- I don't know how the D&D weapon guys expected those to be used, but the historic mouth-darts were essentially self-contained mini blowguns. Like an inch-long hollow of bamboo about the size of a pen or a drinking straw with the dart stored inside it. That way you didn't repeatedly stab yourself talking with a needle in your mouth. You'd hide it under the tounge or between your gums and your cheek, roll it into place when you needed it, and puffed.

Any poison on the list labeled "Injury" will work fine.

Published by dave on 3/07/2004 03:06:00 PM

Hi dusty can I request from the house 18 fukimi-bari mouth darts.
a questgon for the group I need a poison for them that will not kill me!

Published by Anonymous on 3/07/2004 12:12:00 PM

Dustin - It's nice how those of us who don't read Salvatore keep learning about the drow bit-by-bit every time something conflicts with your game world...

The scarring on Izz'drin's face was earned in an earlier combat.

"You would not be punished or rewarded for killing a lesser-standing drow. It would be seen as you eliminating a lame beast of burden that just needed to be put out of its misery."

So killing a higher-standing drow is celebrated, and killing a lesser drow is completely ignored.

So what's with all the secrecy and poisons and assasination bullshit? Why not just walk up and stab the fucker? It would be so much easier.

So what actually would evoke some kind of responce? Would anything happen if I started referencing the matrons as "MILFs 1-#13...?"

I want to kill 100 drow babies, harvest their brains, and goneaking off into some of the deeper tunnels. Then I make a trail of them of brains back to the ain antichamber. Would a group of Illithid gobble them up like E.T. did with the Recees Peeices? Would that work...?

hey dusty let me know when you are free to do something im pretty sure i wanna play but i would need help from someone to make an effective fighter

Published by Anonymous on 3/06/2004 08:53:00 PM

The thing is Jeremy, your are a high born noble, you would not be punished or rewarded for killing a lesser-standing drow. It would be seen as you eliminating a lame beast of burden that just needed to be put out of its misery. Also, you are going to have to be pretty creative on your backstory as to why your character is still alive with the grotesque facial scaring. If you were born that way, you would have been sactifised immediately.

All- start thinking of a back story for your characters, it will earn you XP for emailing it to me at dmellott2001 at yahoo dot com, the more creative your back story, the more XP earned, and the weaker the back story the less XP earned.

ps. in my email address, remove the spaces, change the at to @, and replace the dot with a period.

Jeremy--Narcissist, with that mask? And there are pseudofeats from the BoVD (p10) that'd help you out with the sado-masochism, but they're overpowered for 1st level. :ic: And I'd help you with that. But, they have to make at least two serious mistakes first. And trust me, I'm keeping track of those... :end ic: It's my relative lack of HP that is the major issue for me. Which is why low HP chars would be the first to go...

Dustin--4 surviving groups is perfectly fine.

Published by Anonymous on 3/06/2004 06:54:00 PM

My character is a narcisistic, Chaotic-Evil sado-masochist. I'd kill a lesser-standing drow infront of a full-crowd of people just so I can get punished for it...

Published by Anonymous on 3/06/2004 12:57:00 PM

It is 4 groups, out of 100 groups. The groups were between 5 and 10 people in each group. And this is going to be the 5 day of the trials. Anyone who died in the first 3 days were deemed as unwortht of being a drow.

I was listining to whats his face too much, the way the game went last week was perfect, i dont want to change a thing.

Published by dave on 3/06/2004 12:36:00 PM

i for one like that u changed your mind dusty it's good thing i didn't want to die 12 times one one night

Published by Anonymous on 3/06/2004 03:50:00 AM

Yes, but part of what we need to do to survive is rely on eachother to some extent. So far, every character has done at least one worthwhile thing to counteract any dire mistakes. If that changes, or if she finds anyone who doesn't worship Lolth... Bad things will happen to them. It's also that the rest of the group are meat shields until she gets more HP, same for everyone else. As for the surviving group numbers, I would say 4 is a bit too low. Maybe 10 or 20? I don't think they would want to kill off all their graduating classes. But, hey, that's up to you.

Published by Anonymous on 3/06/2004 02:43:00 AM

One mor thing, im not trying to tell you how to play your characters, that is not my place, do what your character would need to do to survive, and that is all.

Published by Anonymous on 3/06/2004 02:38:00 AM

Mabey i didn't make my self clear at the begining of the test, and i didn't want to say it again, but if i have to, i will. Due to the inate magic of the arena you are combating in, everything is an illusion, including death while it the arena. If somone would have fallen during any of the first 3 days of the test, they would not have been allowed to survive in drow society, you have all proven yourselves worthy of lolth, there is no longer the chance of being sacrifised during for faltering in the test. This is not known as character knolege unless you are informed ingame. I am not asking for total pking, i am asking for a bit more opurtunisum during the last 2 days of the trials.

And the xp penelility shit is gone.

Your characters would of heard rumors saying that there were only 4 of the origional 100 groups advancing on to the last stretch of the trial.

Published by Anonymous on 3/05/2004 10:43:00 PM

Leon--Truetrue, but it's the first time I've seen railroading used to make a party kill eachother instead of get them to a particular place.

Dustin--You're going to have to learn to ignore what whatsisface says about PKing. He's promoting more anarchy than even chaotic evil societies have. If (and this is a big if) you really want to do this, it should be only one test, and everyone should be alive afterwards, with full supplies. The last person left should get some sort of experience bonus or prize or greater status. It should not be a permanant rule, because our characters would not do that all the time.

Published by Anonymous on 3/05/2004 09:12:00 PM

Dustin, the real problem is your dictating to us what our character would do and when. And if you think that's not what you are doing, think again.

Published by Anonymous on 3/05/2004 09:09:00 PM

3 sessions? Boy are you an optomist.

The real problem is defining opportunity. Don't forget one of the cardinal rules of Drow society. No witnesses. As long as no one actually
sees you do it, you're ok, otherwise you are toast.

Published by Anonymous on 3/05/2004 06:58:00 PM

Jeremy--Oh, I have plans *evil grin* I agree with you that this game will not last with that PK rule.

Dustin--This ruling is stupid, and I'm being far too polite with my wording. I'm making two "real" backup characters, and after that they're going to be fighter clones for the remainder of the session. Then I won't be back for another session. I can play hack and slash video/computer games without driving two hours, after all.

All--Even with an evil party, there has to be a slight balance between taking opportunities to kill eachother and keeping enough party members alive to kill the enemies. Dustin just obliterated that balance. The only reason it "works" in Paranoia is that most of the hazards are non-combat. Even then, Paranoia games are one-offs. Since D&D is combat-based, intelligent evil characters in D&D have to work together because they know the entire rest of the world will kill them if they don't. If this order has to be imposed by outside authorities because the characters would normally kill each other, so be it. I know the Drow are vicious wanton killers, but they can't kill eachother all the time because there wouldn't be any Drow left. Therefore, they band together against common enemies, and only kill eachother sometimes.

"Oh, one more thing, I will be penalizing in XP during the rest of the test, if You do not take the given opportunities to advance in station by eliminating a party member when the opportunity's presents itself. "

Yay! It's judgement day!

Caroline, I told ya' we wouldn't need a healer. Considering you'll be dead within 15 minutes of starting next session, it was nice knowing you. Farva, at least you'll get that skin for your dagger. Or course, you'll be dead before you see it made...

I'd reccomend everyone to generate at least four "backup" characters. That should last you at least into the first hour. And if any other DMs have a game they'd like to run, now is the time to come forward. This will de-evolve into a pit-fight and any campaign will be dead within three sessions...

There can be only one!

Published by John on 3/05/2004 02:27:00 PM

Dustin--Actually it is funny. Rather than change characters I've been working with my guild to build Trog into a PVP killing machine. Don't ask me what I'm doing, I'm not going to give any details yet. Lets just say those assholes from Malas are going to be sorry when the overt "suicide squad" of Wookies hits their shitty little town (more than one of us in working on it).

Published by John on 3/05/2004 02:24:00 PM

Dustin--You think I'm going to use a lightning rifle? *snicker* you wish. I have other means to drop TKs now. If you have the right skills and tools you drop them without a problem armor or not. Plus last time you let me set up I smoked your ass before you got to me. Not saying it wouldn't be a good fight, just don't underestimate the wookie. Again the devs are busy nerfing your TK as we speak, so soon you will be no more scary in PVP than a twilek dancing girl in a metal bikini.

ps: 2 or 3 hits? Not some of the new cats that I'm having made. :)

Oh yeah and when they finally nerf TK you are so toast, so enjoy it now....... snoogins

Published by Anonymous on 3/05/2004 06:08:00 AM

First off, I would like to say that last night went beautifully.

Second off, I would like to officially remove infravision completely from the game.

Thirdly, I am going to be a little looser on some of the combat movement rules, in an attempt to slim line combat, and unless fighting in extremely tight cororiders, I will be removing the tumble check to move threw a friendly occupied square, u just do the tumble, without making the check.

And lastly, during the test, if u die, u stay dead, or that is what your character thinks.

Oh, one more thing, I will be penalizing in XP during the rest of the test, if You do not take the given opportunities to advance in station by eliminating a party member when the opportunity's presents itself.

And finaly, the XP earned during the last session, will be reduced to 300, you are all first level, your next level advancement will be the normal amount for second level.

First off, Caroline that was great, were gonna have so much fun.

Secondly, Jeremy, your weapon change has been considered, it will do 1d6 18-20x2, and a +2 to disarm checks.

And lastly, Larry, are u gonna be playing this thursday?

One more thing, Caroline, print out your last post and bring it to the game today, I want you to read it to the class.

And David, Im sorry man, but your character is not getting a wand of anything. And if your character would think for a second of asking a cleric of the house to make you a wand, would be the last second he drew breath. Im not trying to be mean, but if a house drow even so much as breathed wrong infront of a cleric, he would not survive long.

Published by Anonymous on 3/04/2004 02:33:00 AM

Can I petition for a weapon change?

The Bladed Gauntlets were originally an exotic 1d6 17-19x2. The errata nerfed them back to 1d6 19-20x2. The gauntlets have no special abilities. This is a waste of a feat. (Of course, I saw nothing wrong with them in the first place. They had the stats of a Scimitar, with an increased threat range for exotic.)

I would like the Gauntlets either and/or -
a. Declared a Martial weapon, since they are in no way better than a short sword with the same stats.
b. Given back an inceased threat range or multiplier more in line with an exotic weapon
c. Given some special ability.

Personally, I think (exotic) 18-20x2 with a +2 to disarm attempts would work well.

Published by Anonymous on 3/03/2004 05:09:00 PM

You would dare to question the necessity for a cleric of Lolth, and even stoop to question the status of Drow mothers? *ominous look* A Drow mother always condemns weakness and lauds strength in her children, and uses competition among the youngest of her children to aid her judgement in this endeavour. After she has eliminated weak children and deemed the rest potentially worthy of survival, she unleashes them on the world. The strong become ever stronger and impose their views on the world, and the others continue to suffer (as they justly deserve). Many die at the hands of the strong, but the truly weak never even surpass "natural" hazards. Clerics and Lolth herself oversee this contentious process and succor victorious strength with divine healing. Males who are too incompetant to recognize the worthiness of her healing can go entirely without it; few will live long enough to regret their rash decision. Lolth has never had mercy for those who do not recognize her power and infinite wisdom, and her cruelty to false worshippers remains unparalleled. *sneers*

Only the surface creatures, such as our ancestral elven foes, "lick the wounds" as you say. Surface mothers encourage their weak children instead of letting them die and condemn the strong as "bullies". As they are unfit mothers, we Drow always kill their unfit children easily. They grow weaker and weaker with every generation. Eventually, we will swarm over them and utterly destroy their society.

After carefull consideration, I am allowing both 3.0 and 3.5 rangers, the 3.0 is the main choice and the 3.5 will be a variant. If anyone desides to multiclass 3.0 ranger and another class, keep in mind thet only humans are allowed to multiclass freely, that means if u take 1 lvl of 3.0 ranger and dont take it again, u will be subject to the normal xp penelty.

You are drow, u have survived 110 + 2d6 years in the underdark. You have shown your supremisy over the weak and frail. Only lolth can take your life now.

We are Drow. The strong do not need their mother following them around at all times to lick their wounds. The strong will survive, and the weak will die...

Dave--If you're meaning your rogue, he won't be able to heal reliably for a couple levels.

Leon--Hmm... I admit that I haven't looked at the 3.5 ranger all that closely, but it just seems a lot better to me. The two main advantages the 3.0 ranger has: no adaptation needed, and the feats at 1st level. If the feats are an issue, there's no reason why they couldn't be shifted to 1st level, since I doubt Dustin's going to allow people to frontload by taking a single level of ranger. After 1st level, the 3.5 ranger seems to win hands down. There's also a significant difference in HD and Skill Points and the way Animal Empathy works. So why not combine the classes into the best of both worlds? Now the 3.0 rogue vs. 3.5 rogue, that's a case for allowing dual progressions. *shrugs* But whatever Dustin says, goes.

I'm a bit confused here. I seem to have opened a whole can of worms by asking a completely logical question. I said nothing about NOT allowing the 3.0 ranger. Personally, I'd choose one or the other, but that's just me, there's no overriding reason not to use both, if minor modifications are made to one or the other to bring them in line with the rules the rest of the characters follow. Simply treat them as different variants. And that brings me back to my question. Since Dustin has said before that the 3.5 ranger is allowed, that implies that the feats he has as class abilities may be available to other characters. I was simply checking to determine if that was the case, as it could impact one of my backup characters.

Personally, I'd recommend one ranger progression, which adds the useful parts of 3.5 (feat, benefit progression etc), but doesn't conflict with 3.0. The 3.5 progression cannot be used without modification down to 3.0 (animal friendship, animal empathy, wilderness lore, etc) and the 3.0 progression is too underpowered.

If my character does die, we need to have someone else willing to play a female cleric, some male class option for healing, a cleric NPC, or a truly ridiculous amount of healing potions. Anyone else interested in playing a cleric if "bad things happen"?

I realy wasn't gonna nail down which ranger progression i was gonna alow, but now that the question has been posed, i am gonna open it up for discusion, would it be theisable to have both 3.0 and 3.5 exist in the same world? Depending on group consesious, i will deside what format ranger will be in.

All-- u might want to bring an extra character or 2 to the game this Thursday, Im going with Carolines idea to play test some ot the new rules. But the only way that i could think of how to intertwine that into the story was kinda tricky. You will all be going through a test of strength, and as u all know, only the strong worship lolth.

Jeremy--How does reducing two feats to one feat gimp your character? And the people playing rangers are using parts of 3.5 and 3.0. Weird, weird variant. What brands of HD's died, so I know what to avoid?

Wayne--I wish my no sleep was from games rather than homework. Alas, midterms have eaten my soul.

Hey Dustin, what I meant to ask you before getting distacted over other issues is this. Since 3.5 rangers are allowed, are we going to use the 3.5 version of Two-Weapon Fighting for all characters?

hey guys...hows it going,i havent talked to any of you for a while.

Dustin--Neat, flaws and stuff. Apparently it also has some damage variants if you really want some sort of weird effect. So will you come early enough that we can actually look over them before game? *snickers*

As for the wizard NPC, do you want me to lookover your NPC's spells, or just do them with input from Jeremy/Leon/John? I still think your NPC shouldn't specialize because he would lose way too much flexibility within drow society (Abj-Endure Elements and Dispel Magic; Conj-Mage Armor and Summon spells; Div-know where/what things are; Ench-Hold/Charm Person; Evoc-Darkness and dmg; Illus-Invisibility, Silence, and infinite flexibility; Necro-fun evil spells; Trans-Polymorph/Teleport). Losing a school (or two or three) changes wizardly capabilities a lot, especially when you consider Drow spell resistance. But if you're gonna specialize, I'd recommend doing something with abjur/divin/illusion/trans since spell resistance is less likely to apply to those than ench/evoc/necro spells. And he needs Spell Penetration.

Remember that argument about Sneak Attacks at CK? Apparently WotC is psychic or something.

They also added an article on level progressions for Drow. Not that we're doing that, but 'tis interesting and may help with the Drow commoner NPCs. Course the WotC stuff also disagrees with FR on what Drow actually have. Yay inconsistency?
