By the way if you guys want to have some fun go back over the last 7 years that this blog has been active. It is a sad history of our nerdness...

What can I say it has been slow at work today. :)

Posty mc post post...

Just thought that I would let everyone (Farve, Jeremy, and Bubbles) know that I'm still kicking around. So how is everyone doing?

While the movie is going to most likely blow, I'll be watching it just for Liam Neeson.

MOVIE TALK
Mr. T Is Not a Fan of the New 'A-Team'
by Lindsay Robertson · June 7, 2010

The most famous star of the original "The A-Team" TV series is speaking out against the new movie remake. Mr. T, who played B.A. Baracus on the original series, says he was offered a cameo in the new film. However, he turned it down because he says he "knew what was coming" -- a level of violence and sex unacceptable to the actor and, he says, untrue to the original vision of the show.

Mr. T, whose real name is Laurence Tureaud, was in attendance at the movie's Los Angeles premiere, where he admitted his fears were confirmed. "It was too graphic for me," he said. "People die in the film and there's plenty of sex, but when we did it no one got hurt and it was all played for fun and family entertainment. These seem to be elements nobody is interested in any more."

The original "A-Team" was about a group of Vietnam vets who escaped jail after being imprisoned for a crime they didn't commit. They then joined together to fight for justice. While there was violence on the show, it was famously of the cartoonish variety, and rarely was anyone seriously hurt. The new "A Team," in theaters June 11, is made up of Iraq war veterans just returned from the battlefield, and includes a sexy new character played by Jessica Biel.

Mr. T isn't the only former "A-Team" star who has some complaints about the new film. Dirk Benedict, who played "Faceman" in the original series (played in the remake by Bradley Cooper) is less concerned about sex and violence and more offended by his lack of screen time in his cameo: "I'm on for a mere three seconds and I find that kind of insulting."

The new B.A. Baracus, played by Ultimate Fighter Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, would probably disagree with Mr. T's opinion. Last week, he questioned the movie's impact on his own tough image, saying that the entire profession of acting "makes you soft."

The new movie's biggest star, Bradley Cooper, has only joking complaints about the film so far, namely that his shirtless scenes make him look "like a chimpanzee."

Now that was a damn fine game.

I just heard that the old TSR games (The turn based grid based AD&D games from like the 90s and earlier) are coming to XBox Live. Which would be awesome if I wasn't banned from Live. Heh...

Damn... SWG has been running beautifully for about two weeks, then it shits itself every evening for days in a row.

They must be working on something big... new items... new classes... something that made things unstable again. At least I can hope.

I need to re-download everything, reformat and what not. Also, the person that thought to can Haggis, needs shot in the face.

Bubbles if you are playing look up Trogdore the Wookie. I will kick things in the head for you. Also Farve this is FREE you should totally get the software and join us. I will also run around kicking things in the head for you. :)

If you go into Options | Controls | Keymap you can set things up, but it is a bit of a bitch to do it manually- so many keys, you'll almost always get some overlap.

There are some preset ones in there, too. FPS uses WSAD for movement, but you have to remember to click back into the text box to type.

Published by Bubbles on 1/21/2010 12:09:00 AM

Soo, in SWG is there a way to make the controls not terrible? I've been trying, but can not get used to them at all. Was very sad to find out no WASD movement.

Three CDs. (The .isos are weird... you'll need MagicISO to mount them. They won't burn from Nero or IMGBurn, and don't mount with DaemonTools.)

You'll also need a file downloaded off the SWGEmu site. Check the Getting Started section.

Published by Bubbles on 1/13/2010 10:52:00 PM

Jeremy could you link me or email me where you found the disk download? I've wanted to try SWG ever since hearing you guys talk about it forever ago.

Published by Jeremy on 1/12/2010 10:41:00 PM

Woot. I got on briefly last night, had that same moment of gamer happiness as when we first got SWG, then spent 15 minutes trying to kill a frog-thing outside of town. Because starting weapons suck. Heh.

Looks like the server is down right now. :/

Published by Jeremy on 1/12/2010 12:09:00 AM

The disks I downloaded seem to have worked. I'm downloading the updates now. Woohoo!

Published by John on 1/11/2010 05:33:00 PM

Okay I set up an account. I'm going home tonight and dust off my Star Wars discs. I'm really hoping that the prepatch game was as much fun as I remember it. Jeremy I'll let you know what server I'm on. But fear not NO WOOKIE this time. I'm going to play a character that can wear real armor damnit!

Published by John on 1/11/2010 05:12:00 PM

Looks cool. Would be kind of fun to play some old school Star Wars Galaxies.

Published by Jeremy on 1/10/2010 10:50:00 AM

John,

I'd mentioned a SWG server running the classic, pre-combat upgrade client. This is the place.

I haven't tried them out yet.

I remembered you talking about it at one point. I've never seen the cartoon, but the movie looks pretty sweet.

Published by John on 1/04/2010 05:29:00 PM

Holy fucking shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Starblazers was and is my favorite Japanese cartoon ever! I don't care if they do screw it up (though the trailer looks bad ass!) just seeing the wave reflex gun warming up and hearing the classic theme already put a huge smile on my face. I need to see this movie.

Thanks for posting the trailer dude.
