Okay that is kind of funny because I've been sick to my stomach all day and missed work. I think that the game tonight is canceled then. I'll see Jeremy and Farve on Thursday for turkey day. Later

Published by Dustin on 11/19/2007 08:41:00 AM

Hey every0ne, I'm Sick as hell and wont be able to run my game tonight. If john feels up to it, he can run his game. I doubt that ill be doing much more than sleeping when I get off of work.

My Parents.

Farve that means you have to be on your best behavior.

John,

Jen said that the turkey and the stuffing was taken care of. I was thinking of picking up a ham to go with it, and a full cookie sheet of stuffed mushrooms.

I think I'll do a stuffed acorn squash, too. Those are always good. How many people are attending this dinner? I'll need to know how many to buy... (1/2 squash each.)

Sorry about that guys. I did leave a message on Jeremy's cell phone (or at least I thought that I did) on Monday that I was going to miss the game. Jennifer hurt her back worse than ever on Sunday so I've been spending most of this week taking care of her between running into work for an hour here an there. I've not even been near a computer until tonight. Luckily Jennifer is finally doing better and I should be back to a normal schedule soon. I should be at the game on Monday.

Dustin - Just in case you were wondering I will be at the shop on Sunday as long as Jennifer is feeling well enough.

Published by Jeremy on 10/16/2007 08:05:00 PM

John, we're worried someone died. It's really unusual that you miss a game without calling, and you haven't returned any calls. Get in touch with us, please.

John- Give me a call tomorrow evening. Maybe we'll do dinner, too?

The place is a mess, but it's good enough for a game. Monday is on.

BTW, do any of you have a pair of crimpers for CAT5? (Dustin? Bubbles? Scott?)
I still can't find mine and I have some cabling that needs ends. I can't even find a pair at work. (They use punch-down connectors.)

If one is available I'd like pick it up tomorrow (Sunday) and return it at the game on Monday.

Jeremy - Dude I don't know what sort of shape Casa de Gaggins is in but I wanted to know if you were interested in getting together and watching some movies this weekend? I have to watch some flicks for the site anyways (and I bailed on this Sunday at the shop). Plus it is finally feeling like fall and I need to watch some horror films! Let me know.

Give me a call when you get in if you wanna' do it.

Published by John on 10/04/2007 02:40:00 PM

Jeremy - That is to be expected. Moving tends to do two things. First it shows you how much crap you own. Second it makes a mess of both the space you are moving out of and the one you are moving into.

Dustin - I'm going to assume since I haven't seen a post from you with an address that you will be coming to my house tomorrow to catch a ride. Like I said I need you at my place no later than 2 pm. That way we can get check into the hotel by 3 pm. I figure after we get up there we can grab some food (Russ may go with us if he is there). This is going to be the best weekend ever!

I may have to call off the Monday game. The movers are showing up Monday to haul off the rest of Mom and Amber's things. I can't be sure what condition the house will be in before then.

I will be off work at 3PM on Monday. Be sure to check the blog (or call) around 4PM for updates.

Muahahhaha! I found a copy of Grigor's character sheet in my old emails at level 21! (vs. the 14 I was working with for the game.) It's from just after one of the big shopping trips! I don't have any of the stuff that was in my backpacks, but it has my currently equipped items by slot, including the full specs for Durendal. It'll save me tons of time rebuilding.

I'd forgotten about 90% of this stuff. My petrification gaze... flight... hell, I've got a hat that lets me use Polymorph. (Inukchuk!)

John, if you would could you remove whatever "Farva" account is currently on this blog and send out (yet another) invite? I've got his account registered with Google now for the updated blog now, so this one should work.

Actually I think that Dustin mentioned yesterday that he had the game all ready to go. So I would imagine that we need to be ready with the epics.

On another note.....

Published by Jeremy on 9/24/2007 11:14:00 AM

What game are we playing tonight?

Dustin, Farva said something about you not being ready for the Epic campaign, so we'd be doing the gestalt game tonight instead. Is this correct?

I'm hopin' so, 'cause Grigor isn't done. All I've managed to dig up is an old copy of his sheet, and haven't had a chance to re-write him to current specs.

Aah... epic campaigns. Organizing your character is like doing your taxes: Hours of prep work and cross-checking notes and forms, only to be raped by an evil entity you have no chance of ever defeating. Good times. <.<

Dustin- You had expressed some interest in the past about buying my PC when I went to upgrade. Were you still wanting to do that?

It's going to be a complete system. P4 3.4GHz, 1GB DDR2, 250GB SATA-HD, DVD-RW, with the case and a damn nice PSU. Video card is getting a little dated- it's a Radeon X700 PCIe 128MB, but it has served me well.

I was going to offer you first dibs on it before throwing it on eBay.

The library uses some iPrism server that does nothing but filter web content. It burnt up just a few days ago, and the replacement was just up and running about 3pm today, just before the boss went home. But it's new- back to default settings- so it's still using its original, unmodified blacklists.

We've already received a dozen emails from people complaining that they can't get on their MySpace pages, or asking why it is "not aloud" anymore. Another And it will remain that way at least till Monday.

I've been giggling like a little schoolgirl every time another message pops into my mailbox about it.

Oo... there is another one. Teeheehee...

Dustin, I've got a damn nice fishbot from Armypunk. (Same guy who did the Star Wars crafting macro.) It's an Auto-it executable, run the .exe and follow the instructions. It's pretty straightforward, and should be mostly undetectable, as it runs a mouse emulation to control the clicks. (No scanning packets.)

I used to use it all the time when fishing for Deviates. I parked myself inside WC (so nobody could run past and see me) and fished overnight. (Get a mod that plays an audible alert when you receive a /whisper, and set it to something loud. That way if a GM does happen to notice you it'll wake you up to answer. (Which is really, extremely unlikely to happen if you're hidden, but better to be safe.)

Do you have a new email address I can send it to? I haven't sent anything to dmellott2001@yahoo since mid-2006, and it's bouncing things back now so I'm guessing it's dead.

Farva,

I spent the weekend hoping you were telling stories again, but a phone call Monday morning let me know otherwise.

After you walked to the library to try out the new U3 Thumb Drive, at what point did you believe it appropriate to call over someone at the reference desk and say "Hey check this out, I'm through your firewalls and can get admin access to your systems!" (Which... you can't, actually... but the librarians aren't expected to know that.)

Your assignment for this week is to write a short essay of 100 words or less titled
Why I should not be kicked in the nuts
by David Pelfrey

You will be graded, so I would recommend taking the time to run it through a spell-check, or have a proof-reader look over it. Up to 10 points of extra credit will be awarded for the addition of an appropriate animal picture with funny caption. One has been provided as an example:

"Oh hai. This are my nut. Plz do not be kicking it."

I can't find a single feat I'm interested in for my Paladin/Soulblade out of a dozen different PDFs. Though I do kind of wish I'd had gone ahead and played an Elan instead of a Human. Elan have a racial feat which allow them to survive without food or water. =P

Dustin, I'm taking a feat from Book of Exalted Deeds.

Nimbus of Light:
"You are cloaked in a radiant light that marks you as a servant of the purest ideals. All who look upon you know without a doubt that you are a champion of good and are favored by the powers of the Upper Planes.

Benefit: Good creatures automatically recognize the radiants surrounding you as a sign of your purity and devotion to the powers of good. You gain a +2 circumstance bonus on all Diplomacy and Sense Motive checks made when interacting with good creatures. (Woo-freakin-hoo.)

Your radiance sheds light as a common lamp: bright light to a radius of 5 feet and shadowy illumination to 10 feet. You can extinguish this radiance at will and reactive it again as a free action.

So... yeah. I'm a motherfuckin' light(bulb) of God. Even the next feat up the chain (at level 6) is laughably useless. It turns the dimmer switch of God up to high, enlarging the bright light to a 10' radius. Which deals 1d4 points of damage to undead a round. I mean... holy shit! A d4! Those 1/4HD skeletons would be all like "daaaaaaaymn."

I ARE PALADINCAT!

Bubbles - I'm reading through Complete Divine looking for any worthwhile feats for my Paladin. I took a look at Augment Healing while I was here. (It gives you +2 per level of the spell (not your caster level.) +2 on Cure Lts, +4 on Mods, +6 on Serious, +14 on Heal, etc.

It doesn't double your caster level bonus (that still caps out with the spell) but it can push the bonus to above +5/+10/etc. "An 8th level cleric with the Healing domain and this feat casting Cure Moderate Wounds would restore 2d8+13 hp (9 for his caster level including the +1 level bonus for the healing domain, +4 for the feat.)"

Farva - I still haven't found that healing feat you're looking for. Closest I've found is Sacred Healing - Spend a turn attempt and grant Fast Healing 3 (heal 3pts a round) to all living creatures in a 60ft burst.

Published by John on 8/11/2007 11:34:00 AM
