It's no surprise that your wife was going to lose this challenge. Apparently Anne of Green Gables was also given the Anime treatment. Having an Anime exist of the subject increases the creepy level to about 9000.
I'm a bit upset at the poor quality, though. I'd expected far better from creepy doujinshi artists, But, none the less... it exists:
