In response to your last post. If I choose not to "hang out" with you then that is my right. I never demanded or lobbied that they kick you from the group. They asked me what it would take for me to come back and play and I was honest with them. Before you continue to fight with me realize it is neither my game nor my house. I didn't make Dustin and Jeremy to anything, so calling them my "ass puppets" is just silly. They chose to hang with me rather than you on Tuesday nights. That may not be fair, but life isn't fair sometimes. If you can't deal with it then oh well.

Wow what a weekend!

So I've now met the entire cast from the original Dawn of the Dead, and got them to sign a cast photo. Another treasure for my wall o famous people. Great films this weekend too. The one that sticks out is Song of the Dead, a zombie musical. I never knew that zombies could have "jazz hands". :-0 Oh yeah Corpse Grinders is a great film as well. It is an old "drive in" movie. Apparently if you put humans into cat food all the house cats begin to eat their families :) Cheesy to the max.

Finished the weekend off with Serenity. Damn is that a great movie! Everyone must go out right now and see it.

I think I might have enough space on my 40g hdd that is my os, if not, I have another 40g hdd that I can install, when would I be able to either borrow your usb thing or bring my hdds over to do the transfer?

Ah... I've had that happen a few times. I sware XP can't format an NTFS partition the same way twice, and won't read a drive unless it was formatted under its own install.

My USB external bay has always come to the rescue for me. Windows won't read the drive directly, but it will read 'em through the external for some reason. Of course, now you have to figure out where the hell to stick 200g of data while you copy it over.

Hope you bought a lot of DVDs.

Jeremy, I might have a lil data recovery project for ya, I reinstalled windows on my 40g hdd, and now it wont recognise my 200g hdd, it wants me to format the damed thing and lose all my data.

Scooter is a good friend of mine from the shop, he plays in my Monday game, and hes pretty good, if we decide we don't like him, he can not play if ya want.

Okay so I've learned two very valuable lessons in the last 24 hours.

1. When closing a car door remember to have your hand out of the way. I actually shut my thumb in the car door! The door was locked too! Very painful, I don't think anything is broken :)

2. When you apply bengay to yourself make sure to wash your hands BEFORE going to the bathroom. >_<

Unfortunately, I think Shatzer is going to be quitting gaming for a while, at least with our group. There are 2 People that I would like to invite to join our group for a while. Bubbles and Scooter would like to become perminate members of the group, I told them that I would ask before I gave them approval, so does anyone have a problem with them joining?

We ended up not getting started till late, as usual. So we didn't get a chance to completely wrap up the campaign.

Leon borrowed your godlike dice-rolling mojo for this session. Hacking computer networks, breaking through security systems, that kind of thing. He tracked members of the group that has been hitting the bloodbanks down to an abandoned military base.

Some people got stabbed. Some others got shot in the face. Two more humans need to fall down, and one badly injured vampire then we're done. We're close to wrapping up that "boss fight" right now. I'd imagine we can wrap it up in less than a half hour next session. Vampy is either going to fall down, or he's going to flee on us.

Either way, we'll be done in two, maybe three combat rounds.

Well I had a really good time last night. We are still working out the bugs on the system (ie. I don't know all the rules yet). Still the system is pretty neat. I'm glad you guys like the system. I already have some more traditional zombie settings, as well as a Firefly type game written.

I'm going to be about 30 minutes late for the game tonight. I should be at Jeremy's place no later than 6:45. No one panic :)

Jeremy--Oh yeah the laptop. Well I'm a lazy bastage I suppose. I'll have it for you on Friday. Things are slowing down here with the students back, so it will be easy to do now.

Well Sunday works best for me. How does that fit in with the grilling of animals for everyone else?

Shatz - Any updates on that laptop?

Leon - I'm online using your PC again. The old network card must be shot- put in one of my spares and everything fired right up. Onboard sound is still FUBAR'd, and causes nasty brokenness to the system from just turning it on. Unfortunately, I can't offer you a spare sound card- you've got an open PCI slot on the motherboard, but that shitty Compaq case doesn't have an opening in the back for it.

Computer is up and running. You'll have to live with no sound until you're ready to upgrade, but at least you'll be back online.

Also- you'd asked about what could be salvaged from the old machine. IMO, the only thing you could possibly save is the hard drive, and you probably won't even need that. (If you buy one made, they all come with drives- if you decide to build one from parts, I've still got 40G drives lying around.) Nothing else is worth keeping, IMO. At least not as a computer. It would make a nice MAME machine, though. ;D

I can do Friday. I'll have to make sure to get some work done in the game room before then. I haven't even seen the damned basement since last week.

We also need to get everyone over to do some grilling before it starts getting cold again. I've had like 20 pounds of chicken in the freezer since the middle of June now!

It is Labor Day Weekend. We're required, by Federal law, to consume the slightly-charred flesh of animals (with baked beans and homemade macaroni) on one of these days. Besides, sacrificing animals upon the propane altar pleases the Jeebus.

Windows finally installed. System seems to be working again. Online using my USB Wireless Adapter. Working on setting up the rest of your system now.

Other than the usual troubleshooting advice, not really.

It could just be as simple as a scratch on the install disk. It could just be choking at the same point where it can no longer read the CD.

If you have onboard sound on your motherboard, go into CMOS and disable it completely for the install. Take out the sound card if you have one.

Remove all but one memory stick while you're in there.

If there is a chkdisk utility on the CD or boot disk, run a full check w error correction there, too.

If all else fails, sacrifice a copy of Windows 3.11 on floppy disk to the dark Microsoft gods, and pray for its power.

Other than that... I got nothin.

Well my computer seems to be completeing the process of turning itself into a paperweight. Burned off the files this morning, formatted the hard drive and tried to intstall Windows. Halfway through, whoa Blue Screen of Death. Three times now. Same reference every time, something to do with sysaudio.

Unless someone has another suggestion, it looks like time to kill off my internet and CoH subscriptions and start saving that 50 a month for a new comp. Gonna suck using library and comic shop for only access for a few months though :(
